Nature lovers will find plenty to see in the Azores, but the otherworldly volcanic landscape on Sao Miguel Island is one of the archipelago's most magnificent natural wonders. The massive caldera has two lakes: blue and green.

Join us on an exciting excursion to explore the western part of the island, see the stunning beauty of the Sete Cidades Valley, enjoy a delicious lunch, visit the postcard town of Musteiros and experience the unique "hot ocean".
10:00 We will travel to the western part of the island, driving along a mountain road and through an observation deck where you can admire the view of the narrowest part of the island. The journey will continue to "Vista do Rei" - the famous site of the island with a magnificent view of the Sete Cidades valley with blue and green lakes. We will walk through a beautiful park with amazing views of the volcanic lakes, go down to Lake Canariu, then go to the Sete Cidades valley and drive between the colored lakes.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch we will look at the postcard town of Musteiros from above and take beautiful photographs.
You must have heard about the unique, only place in the world called the “hot ocean”, where ocean water mixes with an underwater hot spring, swimming there is a real pleasure!
That's where we'll go.
If the weather permits, you can swim (the ocean will not be warm yet, since it only heats up during low tide, and the low tide will be late, but the water temperature is comfortable, about 20-21º). The place itself and its lunar landscape are worth a visit.
Before returning to the city, we will visit pineapple plantations, with greenhouses in which pineapples are at different stages of growth and find out why they are so special.
10:00 From the hotel we will travel north to the Santa Iria viewpoint, where you can admire beautiful views of the northern coast.
Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit the factory of the only tea plantations in Europe, where you will taste green and black tea, as well as some of the best homemade ice cream on the island. This factory is a real museum for specialists in old equipment.
The next stop will be at the Pico do Ferro site, which offers views of the entire Furnas Valley.
The excursion continues to the hot springs. where you will see more than 23 springs, different in temperature and chemical composition, with gases, without gases, located at different levels of the Earth.
12:30 Before stopping for lunch, let's see how it is taken out of the bowels of the earth.
We return to the valley for lunch "cozido" at a local restaurant. The traditional dish Kozida is prepared in volcanic heat, where it simmers for 6 hours. This dish consists of local sausages, black blood, 3 types of meat and many vegetables. It is not only tasty, but also healthy, since no spices, salt or oils are added to it. Everything is prepared in its own juice and by nature itself.
15:00 A visit to one of the most beautiful botanical parks in Europe, Terra Nostra (entrance 10 €) will also be unforgettable. Trees and plants from all over the world are collected here, and you will also have the opportunity to swim in the hot thermal pool (+38º). The color of this water is unusual - it is yellow-brown. The water that comes from the source into the pool is very rich in iron and many minerals, which will help you relax and improve your health a little.
